If you’re trying to sell your home, your choice in plants and their position within your space may, believe it or not, push the less plant-minded potential homebuyers out the door. Social Media: Using Video

The truth is, video marketing (as in having professional videos done) can be very costly and from an economical stand point, it doesn’t make much sense. Videos can cost anywhere from 300-2000 depending on quality, and that is a large amount to invest in all your listings. However, on that million dollar listing, it may be something to consider. However, you should keep in mind that today’s post is all about making some great videos the DIY free way (meaning free!).

Once again, just as in the previous post on Photo apps, there are many video apps, but I am only going to touch upon my two favourite DIY apps – Instagram and Hyperlapse (both the same company, but different purposes).

Social Media: Using Photo Apps for Real Estate

There are hundreds of apps that you could potentially use for sharing photos on social media, but I personally haven’t used all of them (I’ve used lots though). I am, however, going to share some of my favorites.

Firstly, I want to start off by saying that I highly recommend you take advantage of your smartphone with these apps, because it will give you more authenticity, it will allow people to connect with you on a more personal level, and people are generally more interested in posts that involve pictures or video (especially ones that look good).

Social Media: Scheduling Posts

Post numéro deux. Maybe you are already coming back for more, maybe this is the first post your reading, and maybe after this, you’ll never want to read another post of mine again. But that’s all for you to find out in this post’s topic on scheduling social media posts.

Carrying over from the previous post in the series, social media can be a lot of work. It is, infact, a full-time job for many people, and your first job as realtor is understandably and obviously real estate. Social media is just a part of your marketing tactic. Thankfully, some wonderful people have realized this and have provided us with excellent solutions to setup posts now to be shared in the future.

Social Media: Quick Tips For Realtors

This is the first post of a four post series. The topics being covered are going to cover firstly some quick tips, followed by scheduling posts, and the final two posts will discuss photo & video on social media.

Now, before I get any further, I need to give you a heads up. These post are geared towards those who already have social media accounts. I am assuming that those of you who do have some basic knowledge or maybe you are a pro, and this will be completely boring (I think I may have one or two points though that you can grab from this series ;).

Smokers Can Ruin Property Values

We all know that smoking is hazardous for our health, but it also takes a toll on real estate properties. Leger Marketing conducted a survey of Ontario realtors and has some powerful statistics to report. Almost 90% say smokers’ homes are difficult to sell and that resale values are lowered when there has been smoking in the home, anywhere from 20 to 30% less than comparable homes in the area.

Putting A “Pin” On Creativity

All of us have lots of creative juices flowing in our minds, but sometimes gaining access to them can be a bit of a challenge. For myself personally, I find that one of the best ways to spark my own individual creativity is to seek stimulus elsewhere. Depending on what type of inspiration I’m looking for, my sources will vary, but when it comes to coming up with a new design for a room in my home, or anything home related for that matter, Pinterest is my go-to source.

The London Transit Commission has made a substantial investment into the acquisition of the appropriate software that will enable Google to be integrated into their bus routes, including an enhanced trip planning functionality. Soon we will be able to go to Google Maps, key in our starting point and ending point, and Google will suggest the best bus route, as well as information on bus arrival times.
